1.  Rules
1.  Study hard to complete required courses.
2.  Observe regulations and rules of CIPE; protect all the property of CIPE; protect the environment.
3.  Respect the faculty and staff.
4.  Respect your fellow students and cultivate their friendship, and help each other.
5.  Keep healthy and pay attention to hygiene.
6.  Obey the laws, policies and regulations of the Chinese government. Do not intervene internal affairs of China.
7.  Respect Chinese people’s customs and habits.
8.  Defend and promote the friendship of different nationalities.

2.  Registration and Departure
Application Procedure
   1. Application forms: Contact our office to request a CIPE Foreign Student Application.
   2. Complete and submit the form: After completing the form submit it to our office by hand or mail. Students under the age of 18 must have a guardian in China. 

Registration

   1.  Register in the scheduled time with the Visa Application Form For Foreign Students (JW202), the Notice of Enrolment, and the Report of Foreigner’s Physical Checkup issued by Beijing Health & Quarantine Bureau
   2.  On arrival at school, register at International Students Office presenting the Notice of Enrolment, passport (standard passport), fees, Foreigner’s Health Certificate. 5 pieces of 2-inch photos are needed for Residence Permit Application and student card.
   3.  Students who do not meet Chinese government health standards should leave China within one month
   4.  Students who study in department register at International Students Office before the start of the semester. After paying fees register at department with the notice from International Students Office.

   5. Requirements for undergraduate students: Graduated from high school,4 Grade in HSK.

   6. Requirements for graduate students: Graduated from college, 6 Grade in HSK.

Departure from CIPE

1.  Graduation procedures are issued at International Students Office. Students should balance the account, and return library card, room key, and student card. Transferring to other schools, leave of absence and discontinuation of schooling procedures are all issued at International Students Office.
2. Graduated students should issue their Diploma or Study Certificate at International Students Office after examinations and leave the school within 2 weeks.
3.  Students who cannot leave school in the scheduled time should apply to International Students Office for longer accommodation.

3. Regulations for International Students

Visiting students

Attend class on time, do not be late or leave class before the class is over. Students who are absent for over 20%(including 20%) hours of a course cannot attend the examination of the course. Students who fail in two final examinations cannot receive a Study Certificate. We do not return any tuition fee to students who discontinue schooling for personal reasons (sickness leave ) after one week, but they can continue schooling later.

BA Students

1. The study period and rules for international students are the same with that for Chinese students.
2. Transferring to other school or changing major cannot be issued. Students who discontinue schooling after one academic year can receive a Study Certificate. For students who are excluded from school we only issue a certificate for the courses of study.
    3. We issue Diploma and BA Degree to qualified students who have completed the required courses and gained a “pass” or above in scheduled time.
    4. The extension of study period can be at most two years longer than the regular period. Students who fail to gain a “pass” in the period can only receive a study certificate.
5. We do not return any tuition fee to students who discontinue schooling for personal reasons (sickness leave ) after one week, but they can continue schooling later.

MA Students

1. The study period and rules for international MA students are the same with that for Chinese students
2. Transferring to other school or changing major cannot be issued. Students who discontinue schooling after one academic year can receive a Study Certificate. For students who are excluded from school we only issue a certificate for the courses of study.
3. Students who have completed the required courses and gained a “pass” or above will be awarded a Diploma. With the Diploma, if you have passed the defense of your dissertation, you can get your degree and you will be awarded a degree certificate.
4. We do not return any tuition fee to students who discontinue schooling for personal reasons (sickness leave ) after one week, but they can continue schooling later.

Rules for government scholarship and scholarship students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are consistent with the rules of the government.

4.Rules of housing

    1. We offer dormitories for students of CIPE with their passport.
    2. Follow the arrangement of the dormitories. Twin room should be shared by two students, and students cannot move privately or occupy the whole room.
3. We have twin rooms for single occupancy, the cost is doubled.
    4. It is your responsibility to keep your room clean. No pets are allowed in the dormitory.
    5. Protect the furniture and public equipment. Do not discard any equipment of the school. A fine will be charged for any damage or loss of public property.
    6.Electricity and water should be saved. Keep your personal belongs safely.
    7.Quietness should be maintained in the dormitory. Students are not allowed to hold parties with dancing and loud music, or to create undue noise in the dormitory or hold any activities that may disturb the study and rest of others.
    8. Rules concerning fire precautions must be observed. Electric equipments should be repaired by professional staff. Electric appliances such as electric stove for cooking, heating are not to be used in the dormitory. Turn off all the electric appliances when leave the room. Anyone who causes accidents is to pay for the losses and if the case is serous, judicial authority will give criminal sanctions. 
    9. Posters and printings that are unconcerned with studying are not allowed to be spread or posted in the dormitory.
   10. Dormitory staff have the right to criticize students who violate the rules of dormitory. In a serious case, the student will be punished by CIPE.

5.  Rules for visitors
    1. Visitors should present ID at the entrance of the dormitory, and leave the room before 22:00
2. Either Chinese visitors or foreign visitors are not allowed to live in the room.

6.  Residence Permit and Visa Residence Permit
   1. Students with an “X”visa must go to Beijing Health & Quarantine Bureau for the certificate within 30 days after arrival in China presenting passport, JW202 form, JW201 form, the Notice of Enrolment, the report of foreigner’s physical checkup, and the temporary residence certificate. And after that students must apply for the Residence Permit at the Administrative Department of the Entry and Exit of Aliens, Beijing Public Security Bureau (Address: No. 2 Andingmen Dong Dajie, East District, Beijing) Ask the teacher for further information.
    2. Students with an “F”visa do not need the Residence Permit in the valid period. If you want to continue your study in China, you should apply for visa extension before it expires. Students with an “F”visa more than one year must have physical checkup and alter your visa to apply for the Residence Permit.
   3. Students with “L” or “F” visa who need to alter for an “X”visa should go through the procedures at the Administrative Department of the Entry and Exit of Aliens, Beijing Public Security Bureau presenting JW202 form, the Notice of Enrollment, Foreigner’s Health Certificate, Residence Permit, the visa application form, passport, the certificate of alteration of visa from CIPE within the valid period.
   4.If you need to study in a school in another city, you need to apply for moving out of Beijing. Students who want to go outside of China during your study period are required to apply for an reentry permit. Students who want to stay in China for a longer time need to apply for extension before your Residence Permit expires. 
   5.Neither the passport nor visa are to be altered or damaged, otherwise your will be punished. Good care must be taken of the Alien’s Residence Permit. The loss of it must be reported and a new application should be made by the student himself/herself.
   6. Students who travel outside of Beijing need to have their passport, visa, and the Alien’s Residence Permit with them and visit places open for foreigners. If you want to visit places not open for foreigners, you need to apply for the travel permit at the Public Security Bureau.
7. Students who live off campus are to apply for the Alien’s Residence Permit at the local police office.

7. Regulations on Payment of fees and tuitions
   1. Students need to pay the deposit for the key, student card and other daily stuff on registration. The deposit will be returned to the students on leaving school if things are not lost of damaged.
  2. Students should pay fees in the scheduled time. The dormitory fee should be paid by the actual days of living on the departure from school. The tuition is not returned to students who discontinue schooling.


8.  The Library
International students can apply for a reading card at the library.

9.  Activities and Holidays
     1. International students can attend any activities organized by CIPE or Chinese students.
    2. We organize 2 or 3 trips in Beijing or other activities each semester.
    3. The campus has complete sports, fitness and leisure facilities. International students can use or rent these facilities.
    4. Students who want to travel during the summer or winter vacation should contact the international students office in advanced.

10.Dining
    1. There are several canteens and restaurants on campus. International students can consume in canteens with cash or a consumer card which can be bought at the Food Service Office
    2. There is a public kitchen for international students in the basement of the dormitory. International students can use it after paying the fee. Please protect the facilities and keep it clean. Water and electricity are to be saved, and pay attention to the safety of using electricity and fire.

11.  Medical Services
     1. The University Hospital provides medical care, and the fee is paid by the student.
    2. There are many other hospitals around the campus. The fee is paid by the student.

12.  Other Regulations
    1. International students can have Chinese holidays, and can ask for leave on the important holidays of their own country.
     2. International students can take part in religious activities at temples or churches. Religious activities at non-religious places are prohibited. There is no religious service on campus.
    3. International students can join the Students Union of CIPE. International students can apply for organizing a social group according to the Rules for Social Group and cannot hold any activities without permission. Students need to present a written application to school to found any organizations of their own country for the purpose of study
    4. Notices should be posted at the place authorized by the school. Distribution or posting of propaganda materials, showing movies or videos are forbidden on campus. Judicial authority will give criminal sanctions to those who distribute or post any materials violating the constitutional system, damaging the security or interest of China, or insulting others.
    5. Activities as speeches or report on campus are to be applied and authorized by the school 72hour in advance. The content of speech or report should not violate the constitutional system, or the educational principle of China, and disturb the normal order of teaching and daily life.   
    6. For the safety of students, international students should live in the dormitory. Living with a Chinese family should be applied and authorized at the local security department with passport, the residence certificate of the family accompanied by the family member within 24 hours on your arrival in China.
    7. Using or selling drugs is prohibited, and will be seriously punished.

13.  Service Guide
   1. There is a bank (ICBC) 200 meters away from the south gate (to the east), which offer the service of depositing foreign currency or RMB. Money exchanging are issued at the Bank of China.
   2. There is post office 200 meters away from the south gate (to the east)
   3. There is a small market on campus, open time: 8:00----23:00
   4. 201 phone cards are sold at the lobby of the dormitory.
   5. There are lots of buses at the south gate: 302, 367, 718, 801, 300, 323, 201, 101, and at the east gate: 375, 706, 398, 902, 392.
   6. There are different markets and shopping malls around the campus.
